FAQ's

What exactly does your solar roof do?
Our solar golf cart roofs replace traditional plastic golf cart tops. The solar roof converts sunlight to electricity, which in turn recharges the battery on your cart.

What should I look for in a solar retrofit for my electric cart?
There are several key ingredients that if you don't have, you might end up with buyer's remorse. The first is technology. The most advanced solar panel in the market in terms of efficiency is made of crystalline silicon. Do your homework before you decide to buy. Make sure whatever product you are considering is what's best for this application. Unfortunately, we cannot control what people say or sell. But you can control what you buy. The second is the cart itself. To get the most out of your solar roof, a quality brand electric cart is ideal. Stick with the companies who have been doing this for years. And last, but not least, are the roof's features. A solar panel slapped onto a roof might work, but will create headaches. A solid framework that includes some must-have items will leave you with more value. Check out our Product Features page to see how we stand out.

Will your retrofit adapt to my existing cart and which models?
Yes, our Sun Eagle solar roof is designed to fit 2 and 4 passenger electric carts and currently fits Club Car's DS and Precedent models, all E-Z Go models, and all Tomberlin models.

How much does the Sun Eagle cost?
Please contact us to find out just how affordable our roof is. Make sure you specify the brand, model, and year of your cart.

How does solar power benefit my cart or fleet?
Solar power extends your cart's range, reduces your traditional energy costs, increases battery life, and protects against battery failure or complete drainage while in use. See Why Go Solar for additional benefits.

What is your frame made of?
The Sun Eagle product is made of sturdy, aircraft-grade aluminum, which can be ordered in custom colors and retrofitted for aftermarket add-ons.

Do you provide any options?
Yes, our Sun Eagle solar golf cart roofs are available in a variety of colors and configurations to fit your needs. See how you can Build Your Own.

How many carts do I have to retrofit and can I install it myself?
Whether you're looking for a solar roof for your personal golf cart, or want to retrofit an entire fleet, SolarCarts can help. Installing it is fairly easy and we provide an easy-to-follow instruction manual. However, we recommend using a professional. Contact us to find a local SolarCarts distributor for technical assistance.

Does the solar roof actually work, and will it save me money?
Yes! Solar golf cart roofs are a great way to reduce your impact on the environment, and your bottom line. You will see a return on your initial investment in lower energy costs, longer battery life and reduced battery maintenance. And because the solar golf cart roof can be removed and installed on a newer cart when it comes time for replacement, you will continue to reap the rewards for years to come.

Does the solar roof work on cloudy days?
Yes. As long as the sun is up, it is producing the light necessary for solar panel functionality. Of course, cloudy, overcast days will result in lower solar output, but will still produce enough solar energy to have a positive impact on your battery's performance. Beware of companies who state that their product is never affected during low-light conditions. Because we use a highly efficient solar panel, along with an intelligent control module, the Sun Eagle will automatically optimize itself to produce the maximum amount of energy possible.

Do you offer a warranty on your roof?
SolarCarts offers a competitive warranty package on all our products. Please contact us for detailed information on the warranty available for your specific product needs.
